6/21 *BI PARAPROFESSIONAL (*Special Education) QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Successful experience working with or around children 2.
Must be highly qualified: earned an Associate Degree or higher, OR completed 32 semester credits of higher education through an accredited institution, OR passed the paraprofessional assessment through ets.

REPORTS TO: BI Professional and Special Education Teacher JOB GOAL: To assist in providing appropriate educational support while maintaining a safe learning environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to, but may include) 1.
Maintain confidentiality.

Write changes to behavior plans working cooperatively with Supervisor 3.
Write mini Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) working with School Psychologist and/or Supervisor 4.
Monitor, analyze and graph data as directed by Supervisor 5.

Carry out behavior plans 7.
Participate in daily and long range planning 8.
Work cooperatively with supervisor(s), co-workers, students, parents, building staff, and district staff.

Refer all parent concerns to supervisor.

Implement educational programs as designed by the certified/licensed teacher or related service provider.
11.
Alert the teacher to special needs of individual students.
12.
Collect student performance data as directed by the teacher or related service provider, score objective tests and papers, and maintain appropriate records.
13.
Serve as a resource person to the educational team.
14.
Conduct educational activities with small groups or individual children as directed in a variety of settings.
15.
Give educational support to all students in the general education classroom, reinforcing learning, and in small groups or with individuals as directed by the teacher/provider.
16.
Provide escort and assistance (i.
e.
feeding, toileting, discipline) to children as necessary.
17.
Supervise children in hallways, lunchroom, and playground.
18.
Assist the teacher in maintaining an orderly learning environment (i.
e.
bulletin boards) 19.
Operate and maintain classroom equipment 20.
Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
21.
Encourage age appropriate social interaction among students.
22.
Assist in the monitoring supplementary work and independent study.
23.
Give training support to students who are participating in community environments, job training experiences, and other activities as directed by the teacher/provider.
24.
Assist in the management of crises problems and behavioral intervention plans.
25.
Be familiar with building procedures when performing duties with a work ethic that is committed to safety.
Report any unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
26.
Participate in meetings and functions when requested.
27.
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that the teacher and building principal may assign.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Position is at-will and hourly.
Salary is paid from column 40 on the Classified Salary Matrix and work year to be established by the Board.
