Planning and instructing lessons on science topics, such as biology, chemistry or environmental science.
This position will be for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
Job Description: The classroom teacher will create a class environment that implements the district articulated curriculum for their content area that provides positive learning experiences for all students, including providing each student with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to lead self-sufficient, healthy, productive, socially responsible lives to the best of their individual potential.
The teacher will establish good relationships and rapport with students, parents, and staff members.
The teacher will document student progress, set appropriate learning goals, lesson plans, plan activities and outcomes; address specific educational needs of all students; communicate feedback to student’s parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
The teacher will use assessment results to guide and implement differentiated instructional strategies.
The teacher will work collaboratively with staff, attend department meetings and participate in extracurricular activities where appropriate.
The teacher will maintain professional competence through in-service education, coursework and professional growth activities.
Qualifications: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Secondary Science Endorsement CTE Endorsement is preferred Successful 9-12 school teaching experience Provide students with knowledge and skills necessary to create, perform, and respond effectively to all aspects of content areas Ability to relate positively with parents, students, community members and colleagues in order to achieve the vision and mission of the high school and school district Must make student safety a priority Must be able to teach students with a variety of learning levels and needs Flexibility, enthusiasm, and commitment to secondary education TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT and Salary: As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Kettle Falls Education Association (KFEA) and Policies and Procedures of Kettle Falls School District.

The salary range for teachers in the Kettle Falls School District is between $48,387 and $89,989 per school year.
Placement is defined within the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and is generally based upon a combination of Education and Experience.
Other forms of compensation may be available to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range or wage scale as defined within the current collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year.
An employee employed less than a full term shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance Each employee shall earn five (5) annual leave days per year.

0 FTE will receive a prorated share of annual leave based on their percentage of FTE.
Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability.
Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over the school year are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.
Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences.
The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted.
Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
