Unless otherwise specified in the adjunct faculty member’s letter of appointment, workload consists solely of instruction.
All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

Faculty with a quarter-to-quarter or semester-to-semester appointment who are in an EWU paid appointment of at least 50 percent or more are eligible for PEBB insurance on the first day of the month following the start of their second consecutive academic term.

To be considered eligible for appointment into the position, applicants must be available and able to start in the position no later than the date specified in the letter of appointment.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16.
The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
All new employees must comply with EWU immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU.

Pre-Placement Physical Hearing Test Medical Monitoring Post Hire Protective Equipment Required Qualifications Demonstrated expertise is required for teaching in the discipline associated with appointment as an adjunct faculty member; expertise is normally demonstrated by one or more of the following: Master’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with Master’s degree in a health or education related field Unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse license, or eligible for licensure Current healthcare provider CPR certification Excellent interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications Five or more years recent clinical experience Master’s level course work in nursing education One or more years of prior experience teaching in a clinical, laboratory, or simulated learning environment Experience working with Canvas or another learning management system Other Skills and Abilities Work Schedule Type Other Work Schedule Schedule will be specified in the letter of appointment and may vary each semester, in order to fulfill the position’s assigned workload.
