Amentum is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer in Spokane, Washington to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client for the development of a distance learning capability and the associated course content.
Our ideal candidate is experienced in instructional design and development, training delivery, and the use of eLearning authoring tools and learning platforms.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively, both independently and as a part of a team in a highly structured working environment, are qualities needed to succeed in this position.
Main Responsibilities:
Identify and scope training and education requirements through the application of professional knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design, development, and evaluative principles.
Support training in accordance with established technical guidance and learning theory practices.
Develop courseware utilizing the Analysis, Design, Development, implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process.
Integrate approved courseware and media into customer supplied learning management system(s).
Maintain practical knowledge of emerging technologies and processes for learning theory, curriculum development, remote learning, learning management systems, and instructional systems design.
Evaluate effectiveness of training using assessment, learning outcomes, reports, etc.
and recommend/implement improvements as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and hold a Top-Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Management, Educational Technology or similar from an accredited college or university.
Professional knowledge of, and experience with designing, implementing, and conducting remote learning systems utilizing academia recognized educational theories and practices.
Knowledge and experience with self-paced asynchronous learning theory, principles, and instructional methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional systems design and training program development.
Knowledge and experience using the ADDIE instructional design model or similar models.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Foundational understanding and experience in media development, publishing, content management and Learning Management System (LMS) administration using tools such as Articulate, Captivate, and Blackboard.
Experience in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs to lead continuous improvement efforts, ensuring that training program achieve organizational training objectives.
Prior experience developing and designing training and education products and solutions for the DoD/Federal government.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA).
In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.
The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
Compensation & Benefits:
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $39.
50 to $60/hr (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.
