*90+ Project Overview*
Founded in 2014, The 90+ Project is a youth development organization focused on building community, eliminating barriers to soccer participation and using the beautiful game to teach and model character and leadership.
We offer soccer and youth development programs for everyone; regardless of one’s ability to pay.
*Job Summary:*
The Soccer Coach is responsible for the overall development of their assigned player and teams.
This includes, but is not limited to preparing and managing training sessions, teaching and modeling character and leadership, coaching all team game activities, creating a comprehensive training schedule, and identifying tournaments and friendly games.
It is also expected that the coach delivers a quality experience to the families within the 90+ Project community, maintaining open communication and transparent feedback on players development.
All coaches in the 90+ Project are expected to continue their personal development and more experienced coaches may be called upon to mentor others.
*COACHING ROLES*
* *Head Coach (available 2-3 days a week)*

* *Volunteer Coaches (Recreational Program) *
*Primary Job Functions:*
* Model, embody and instruct character and leadership placing the person before the player.
* Conduct team training sessions two - three times a week (1.
5 hrs per session) during the Fall and Spring seasons; following training philosophy and character and leadership curriculum.
* Create a training schedule in consultation with club Coaching Development Coordinator (training sessions, games, tournaments, futsal)
* Attend all Friendly, Tournament, and League play games
* Provide player development feedback to players and families
* Ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all players
* Recruit players to fill roster spots when needed
* Manage team communications ensuring a high level of engagement.

This person has experience working in and building community; ideally in a sports based youth development organization.
They have familiarity with inclusive practices, passion for the impact sports can have on the holistic development of youth, and are passionate about serving youth in a way that empowers them to reach their fullest potential.
* Is a self starter, empathetic mentor and compassionate leader who knows how to keep people working towards a goal and provide support and motivation when challenges arise.
This person should embrace and embody the vision and values of The 90+ Project and be eager to build meaningful connections as a member of a highly functioning team.
Exceptional interpersonal & organizational skills as well as communication skills; written and verbal is ideal.
* Would be a seasoned coach who has experience in coaching youth of different age ranges and skill levels, prioritizing an approach that is fun, inclusive, and utilizes best practices of positive youth development.
They would also understand and be committed to 90+’s pay-what-you-can model, ensuring inclusivity and affordability and would work to strengthen ways to center the voices of participating youth and infuse character, leadership and mental skills into program design.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Experience as a head or assistant coach desired (or relevant playing experience)
* Strong understanding of team tactical principles
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Familiarity with fitness and a tactical understanding of the game
* Successfully pass criminal background check and credit check
* Grassroots license desired; higher licenses preferred
