Supervisor (Electrician)
CDC-NIOSH - Spokane, Washington
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Supervisor will be working in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
Strict adherence to corporate and plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.
A commitment to carrying out the company's quality policy is required.
The Supervisor must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers, and other employees.
*Required Education and Experience* * Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing and related services in buildings similar size and complexity.
* Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field.
(education may be substituted by showing a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a similar role) * Experience in CMMS (micro main, IFMS, other) * Must have a valid driver’s license.
* Operation of snow moving equipment (Truck, Plow & Spreader) * Must possess, or be able to obtain, a CDC-NIOSH Security Clearance.
* The on-site supervisor is required to be fully conversant in English.
* Shall possess one or more of following certifications: * Certification from a vocational-technical school in any mechanical technology or 10 plus years’ experience in the building trades *Preferred Education and Experience* * Understanding and working Knowledge of BAS * Experience in CMMS IFMS * *Job Functions (including but not limited to): *Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Oversees the portions of safety program, environmental compliance, and Quality Control efforts for the contract to include all required documentation and ensures that the contractor is working in a safe and compliant environment while adhering to all local, state, federal, and agency specific requirements.
Have the full skill set required to accept and respond to client requests, inspection reports, produce schedule updates.
Able to assist and provide the Project Manager with necessary submittals, cost control, proposals for modifications and all other correspondence.
The ability to act on behalf of and in the best interest of RWD in every detail during the term of the contract.
The Operations supervisor will be required to be on site during normal CDC-NIOSH working hours or other as necessary to facilitate all aspects of his or her responsibilities not limited to.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* 1.
Supervises the activities of Operations Electrician, Plumber, General Maintenance Workers, HVAC Technician, Warehouse, and temporary employees directly by using both verbal and written instructions in compliance with the guidelines provided under the RWD-CDC contract and using independent judgment in instances not covered by the guidelines.
2.
Ensures that operational services meet the needs of the CDC-NIOSH department users and maintenance O&M guidelines by scheduling work activities and adjusting workloads to compensate for scheduled and unscheduled absences, changing priorities, and special maintenance /projects.
3.
Ensures that the quality of O&M services meets established guidelines by inspecting the work of O&M, Warehouse personnel and directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary to meet those guidelines.
4.
Maintain an effective team of O&M, Warehouse personnel by instructing all employees in the proper methods and use of materials and equipment for safe and efficient work performance, evaluating individual performances to meet established standards, assist the Project Manager by providing require performance evaluations on personnel and making recommendations regarding the retention of new employees.
5.
Enforces RWD/CDC/NIOSH rules and policies regarding employee conduct by advising personnel of the RWD rules and policies on employee conduct, issuing verbal warnings and written reprimands for violations, and recommending progressive disciplinary action to the immediate supervisor as appropriate.
7.
Ensures that personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their respective services by issuing supplies as needed, completing request form(s) for replacement items, and storing the supplies and equipment as necessary.
8.
Conduct regular inspections of ongoing and or completed work orders and Preventive Maintenance tickets and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on punch list or close outs.
10.
Ensures that administrative records and reports regarding personnel are accurate and current by reviewing employee timecards or monthly time sheets and monitoring employee absences.
11.
Performs daily O&M duties as needed in support of the user’s mission.
12.
Provides continuity of O&M services under emergency conditions or unique circumstances by performing necessary O&M duties directly related to the emergency conditions or as the situation dictates.
13.
Assists with ensuring that specified contract services are provided by the contractor by inspecting the work performed and advising the Project Manager when shortcomings or other deficiencies are noted.
14.
Provides continuity of supervision and leadership by assuming the duties and responsibilities of other O&M personnel as required by special circumstances.
15.
Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
16.
Remains competent and current by attending training and/or courses required under the contract.
17.
Contributes to the overall success of the contract by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
*Seasonal: Snow Removal* Position requires knowledge in operating F350 PU with snow spreader, plow attachments and other related equipment.
