* Design and execute experiments to understand process variables and identify critical parameters that influence product quality and performance.
* Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and engineering principles to draw conclusions and make recommendations for process improvements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production and Engineers, product designers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure smooth execution of R&D projects.
* Identify and troubleshoot process issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to ensure consistent and reliable manufacturing.
* Continuously monitor and evaluate process performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
* Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging process engineering techniques to contribute to the innovation and advancement of the organization's capabilities.
* Document experimental procedures, process specifications, and findings in technical reports and presentations.
* Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during process implementation and optimization phases.
* Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and research institutions as necessary to leverage external expertise and resources for process development initiatives.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
ABET Accreditation preferred.
* Proven experience in process development, optimization, and scale-up in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
* Proficiency in using statistical analysis software and process simulation tools.
* Solid understanding of engineering principles, including mass and heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics.
* Knowledge of process safety principles and risk assessment techniques.
* Experience with design of experiments (DOE), statistical process control (SPC), and Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
