Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure all machinery, equipment, tooling, building structures, and facilities are maintained and functioning properly at all times
Oversees activities of maintenance department
Reviews and approves preventative maintenance documents
Schedules and manages preventative maintenance activities
Oversees outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility
Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Maintains a preventive and predictive maintenance programs on all machinery, equipment, etc, with documentation and records necessary to support the program
Coordinate maintenance department inventory to be certain an adequate supply of material and repair parts are in stock to reduce production downtime due to breakdown of equipment
Maintains numerous contacts with manufactures’ representatives to keep abreast of latest developments and techniques in maintenance and repair fields
Investigates constantly new sources of supply to acquire the best price, delivery, and quality
Assisting in the development of capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials used in maintenance
Collaborates with other departments to resolve maintenance issues and to keep manufacturing equipment operating in an efficient manner
Knowledge, Skills & Education:
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, through a variety of medium (e-mail, instant messaging, phone, etc.
)
Technical degree or seven (7) years equivalent experience required
Self-starter with a can-do attitude; always working in the best interest of VRC
Works well with other areas of the organization, will interface with all functional areas of the operation
Work with minimal supervision independently to complete tasks as well as working as an active team member
Experience troubleshooting, replacing and programming PLC’s and perform more complex wiring is preferred
Ability to identify opportunities, drive, support and sustain continuous improvement activities
Ability to multi-task in a complex and changing environment, while staying focused on the job at hand
Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work -day schedule effectively
Prior leadership experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit; stand; walk; lift; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance
Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
Noise level is usually moderate to loud
Lift, push, pull up to 70 LBS
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening to include marijuana usage
