We are currently looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Spokane Valley, Washington.
PURPOSE OF POSITION Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering intern is responsible to perform/develop technical analytical models as well as support of research and development projects.
The ideal candidate will take on various technical projects including engineering analysis and solutions.
Task and Responsibilities: Assist in the design or modification of concrete railroad products.
Support for plant production equipment, forms, and tools required for concrete tie manufacture.
Technical interface with external and internal customers.
Research and development of new innovative products and/or services.
Organize and facilitate document control for digital and hardcopy technical materials.
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing abilities related to job assigned.
Job Requirements (e.
g.
education, experience, skills and desired competencies): B.
S.
(or pursuing) in relevant Engineering discipline (Civil or Mechanical preferred).
Experience with portland cement concrete or grouts is a plus.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Inventor.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Strong technical report writing skills.
Strong written, and oral communication skills are required.
Ability to communicate technical information both written and verbally to various levels within the organization.
Deliver excellent customer service to different stakeholders.
Build integrity and trust among the team.

Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility at the workplace.
