*Essential Functions* * Manages, supervises and develops long and short-range plans to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
* Supervises project design; analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
* Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
* Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
* Prepares a variety of studies, reports, related information and recommendations for implementation or decision-making purposes; conducts site inspections and evaluations.
* Act as the lead civil engineer or civil engineering representative in complex project design teams.
* Coordinate with internal team members and stakeholders, external engineers, foreign utilities, the public, and Federal, state, and local jurisdictions by providing expert advice and input on a wide range of complex issues related to civil engineering.
* Conducts field visits to aid in civil engineering design approaches.
* Performs design of civil engineering projects.
* Provides technical support to construction and field personnel.
* Creates typical standard details for use on civil engineering project designs.
* Investigates failures, develops reports, and recommends design solutions.
* The engineer will perform non-routine design assignments requiring basic and complex design calculations.
* They will also be responsible for complete detailed construction drawings with supervision from the Project Manager.
* Provides mentoring and technical feedback to project team * Ensures equipment, product, and material selections meet and conform to Company standards.
* Confirms project and design quality of lower-level engineering and design staff.
* Provides alternative means and methods for preparing construction plans and specifications.
* Maintains technical proficiency with local government agency requirements * Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
* Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
* Manage specifically assigned project activities.
* Assist in constructability reviews.
* Able to be at work, on time, all the time consistently.
*Qualifications:* * Ability to work well in a high-pace dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion and deadlines are met as required * Planning, scheduling, assigning, coordinating and monitoring the work of professional, and technical staff.
* Planning, implementing and coordinating comprehensive programs and projects; * Thinking conceptually * Observing and evaluating trends * Operation of a personal computer and applicable software including CAD * Communicating effectively orally and in writing with supervisors, contractors, developers, employees, and community members.
* Conducting research, analyzing data and compiling comprehensive reports, with recommendations.
* Interpreting administrative guidelines and applying them to the work situation; * High level proficiency with “AutoCAD Civil 3D” and the ability to work with survey data.
* Project management experience is required, and the ability to meet with clients and municipalities to explain and defend design details.
* Site field experience and construction methods impacting civil and structural design * Experience with site preparation and drainage design.
* Working knowledge of civil design software packages: Civil 3D * Self-motivated and self-directed *Experience and Education* * Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college * Minimum of 6 years professional experience in related discipline * Professional Engineering (Civil/Structural) license in ID; ability to obtain WA license within 12 months * Experienced in all project phases from scope development, execution, and closeout * Experience in Project/Task Management * Experience in business development or experience working with clients and public entities * Required to have a valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.
* Required to have strong technical writing abilities with experience using Microsoft Word.
* Proficient with general computer skills (MS Office Suite etc.
).
* Must have superior customer service skills, be team-oriented and enjoy service-oriented work.
