Position Summary:
Creates and manages all purchase orders for food service and clinical nutrition support.
Evaluates inventory, requisitions, par levels, and product rotation.
Ensures competitive pricing for supply chain items.
Works directly with Executive and Sous Chef team to manage waste reduction and strategic inventory control.
Responsibilities:
Operates administrative ordering component for FSS food service software
Manages vendor delivery times, rotates product, organizes inventory for production
Works harmoniously with a team, informing team members of supply chain adjustments
Ability to manage multiple offsite supply needs for satellite food service outlets
Tracks waste, reduces excessive ordering, reviews financial impact with pricing variables
Communicates with frontline team of product, inventory, and supply chain changes
Records and ensures pricing credits are appropriately applied to the company’s account
Dynamic ability to stage storage areas for deliveries, able to place inventory away appropriately
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Performs other related duties as assigned
Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Previous experience in food purchasing and/or cooking experience preferred
Familiar with a wide range of food service items and clinical nutrition supplements
Must be able to operate CBORD food service ordering system
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
Able to stand for long periods, requires lifting and various physical demands
