Description Office Assistant 3 (OA3) Full-Time, Non-Permanent Spokane Veterans Home This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door working as a State Employee! We are excited to announce we are now accepting applications to work as an Office Assistant 3 (OA3), Full-Time, Non-Perm, here at the historic Spokane Veterans Home in Spokane, Washington! Please Note: Expected work hours will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday through Tuesday.
*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L.
Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.
*Position(s) at this location will also receive 5% Premium Pay for 24/7 facilities.
Employees must physically work at the facility 3 days per workweek to qualify.
The 5% Premium Pay is in effect until June 29th, 2025.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.

If you want to make a difference in the lives of our veterans and their families, then we encourage you to join us by applying now! Duties Some of what you'll be doing includes: Primary receptionist over the weekend.
Maintain accurate financial activity files for welfare, and betterment, and resident trust fund accounts for audit trail.
Provide data and reports as needed for survey.
Performs word processing in support of Nursing Department ongoing revision of nursing procedures.
Monitors vacant positions and assists Administrative Asssitant 5, Scheduler and DNS with the new hire process, including schedule interviews and participate in the interview process, as requested.
Conducts reference checks as requested.
Perform nursing license verification.
Oversee and maintains filing system.
Answer telephones and take messages or transfer calls as appropriate.
Answer questions or refer to appropriate department or person.
Assist with scheduling/maintaining staffing for all nursing department, and assist with recruiting processes including completing reference checks and other pre-employment processes to help onboard new hires.
And much more! Qualifications Required: 6 Months experience in a clerical position, preferably in a medical environment.
Must have excellent skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient in Electronic Medical Records Desired: Current Healthcare CPR.
Excellent Customer Service Skills.
Clear written and verbal customer service skills.
Experience with medical terminology and file management.
