ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As an estate planning legal intern, your duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the specific needs of the law firm.
Overall, as an estate planning legal intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience assisting clients with their estate planning needs under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
This role provides valuable exposure to various aspects of estate planning law and client management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting attorneys in drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
Conducting legal research on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to estate planning.
Communicating with clients to gather information and provide updates on their estate planning matters.
Assisting with the preparation of estate planning presentations and materials for client seminars and workshops.
Organizing and maintaining client files and documentation related to estate planning matters.
Observing client meetings relating to estate planning.
Assisting with the preparation of estate tax returns, setting up LLCs, and other related documents.
Collaborating with other staff and attorneys on various projects and tasks.
Staying updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations.
Represent the firm in a positive and caring nature.
Contribute positively to the atmosphere with clients and within the office.
Support other team members as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree
Basic knowledge of estate planning laws, trust administrations, probate procedures, and tax implications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and colleagues
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges as needed
