*POSITION* Dental Assistant *JOB TYPE* Full-Time *SCHEDULE* 4 days per week Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri approximately 7:30am to 5:30pm *PAY* Between $20-30/hr, depending on experience level *BENEFITS* Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay, prorated for number of days scheduled to work; Performance bonuses based on team goals, 401K and 401K match *STARTING DATE* Flexible, Preferably as soon as possible *RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE\** ● Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.
● Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
● Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
● Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
● When Lead Dental Assistant is not present, leads set-up efforts by arriving at least 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled patients to assist with office and operatory preparations.
● Participates in morning meetings to receive and/or provide information regarding new patients for the day.
● Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographs and pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
● Fabricates and adjusts temporary restorations, cleans and polishes removable appliances.
● Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
● Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
● Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
● Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
● Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
● Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
● Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
● Ensures operation of dental equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions and prescribed procedures and protocols.
● Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
