Summary of Duties: The Research Study Assistant, Research Study Coordinator 1 and/or The Research Study Coordinator 2 in the Analytics and Psychopharmacology Laboratory (APPL) will provide professional level support for clinical trials and research studies by developing investigative procedures and assisting in experimental design.
The role supports the coordination of and oversees the implementation of research studies and projects through community outreach, developing recruitment strategies by engaging participants, site staff, and community members in research in the Analytics and Psychopharmacology Laboratory (APPL).
This position will be responsible for recruiting and retaining study participants that meet the requirements of the study.
The Research Study Assistant will assist in the implementation of research studies and projects in the Analytics and Psychopharmacology Laboratory (APPL).
They will assist the Research Study Coordinators in APPL with various research projects.
The Research Study Coordinator 1 will coordinate and oversee the implementation of research studies and projects through community outreach, developing recruitment strategies by engaging participants, site staff, and community members in the APPL.
The Research Study Coordinator 2 will provide professional level support for clinical trials research studies by developing investigative procedures and assisting in experimental design.
The role supports the coordination of and oversees the implementation of research studies and projects through community outreach, developing recruitment strategies by engaging participants, site staff, and community members in research in the APPL.
This position will be responsible for recruiting and retaining study participants that meet the requirements of the study.
This position will also assist with data collection analysis, method, management, data security, and protocol adherence.
Knowledge of human subjects' regulations, policy and procedure will be utilized.
Projects may include assessment of individuals with drug and alcohol problems, work on NIH- and industry-sponsored phase I and II clinical trials, pharmacotherapeutic interventions, technology and contingency management therapeutics, laboratory and community-based research, database entry (e.
g.
, REDCap) and data management, and working with community partners, providers, and other WSU team members.
Due to the nature of the research studies, experience working with people who use substances or have substance use disorders is highly desirable.

Ability to travel, including overnight, on occasion.
Must have valid driver license by the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in human subjects research.
Experience developing, managing, or maintaining electronic databases.
Experience working with people with substance use disorders, mental health problems, and/or related health problems.
Research Study Coordinator 1 Required Qualifications: Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements: Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite products.
Ability to travel, including overnight, on occasion.
Must have valid driver license by the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in human subjects research.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and competence communicating and working with health professionals, faculty members, researchers, and diverse groups within the general public.
Experience developing, managing, or maintaining electronic databases.
Experience recruiting study participants for research studies.
Experience preparing documentation for Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
Experience working with people with substance use disorders, mental health problems, and/or related health problems.
Experience with data collection instruments (e.
g.
, REDCap) and/or other databases (e.
g.
, Amazon web services).
Experience preparing technical reports.
Research Study Coordinator 2 Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements: Experience in human subjects research.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite products.
Ability to travel, including overnight, on occasion.
Must have valid driver license by the time of hire.
Experience with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field.
Outstanding ethical integrity and strong commitment to confidentiality in dealing with study related data.
Excellent time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience designing research studies and independently implementing research protocols.
Experience consenting participants for human subject research.
Experience working with people with substance use disorders, and/or related health problems.
