On-Call Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) Department: Inpatient Behavioral Health FLSA Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt (Hourly) Schedule: Varies-On Call Reports to: Service Unit Supervisor Wage Range: $20.
14-$31.
27 (DOE/DOQ) This is a part-time position, which requires working 2 shifts per calendar month; however, you may opt to pick up as many shifts as you would like.
This position is typically utilized to fill in for employees on leave, vacation, or call-offs.

50/hr wage increase after successful completion of 90-day probationary period and incrementally after that for 24 months.

403(b) Thrift Savings Plan with the HL7N maximum pension contribution of 4%, completed 12 months of employment (2,080 hrs.

Healing Lodge employment may qualify for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program as well as loan repayment through Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) ABOUT THE COMPANY The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a growing and developing comprehensive behavioral health organization encompassing a 45-bed capacity youth (13 to 17 years of age) residential treatment facility and outpatient clinical care.
The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with substance use disorder and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.
Our services are open to both Native Americans and non-Native from all areas of the country.
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides 24/7 resident-centered care by facilitating, participating, and monitoring the residents with co-occurring disorders.
DUTIES Effectively redirect behaviors involving risk of physical harm to self or others or the destruction of property.
Successfully completes daily written reports within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system for each client, documenting client successes and concerning behaviors.
Provides on-going assessments of progress.
Creates general strategies for behavior assessment.
Facilitates conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
Works to avoid coercive interventions from invitations to escalate or enter into conflict around insignificant behaviors.
Models direct and clear communications with peers, clients and supervisors encompassing cultural awareness and respectfulness of differences.
Establish a helping relationship with the person receiving services by demonstrating empathy, respect and genuineness in order to build trust.
Acts in a professional and ethical manner presenting a professional image in appearance, communications and demeanor.
Adheres to Agency scheduling policy, follows program activity schedules; committed to personal professional development; and recognizes the importance of self-care.
Assists in gathering information about basic and community living of the person receiving services to be used in assessment process, implement designation interventions and behavioral management programs.
Communicate with supervisor and established chain of command regarding daily operations and/or incidents; document all required information in a clear, legible, timely, concise and accurate manner.
Works closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assess client's behaviors and create a specially designed treatment plan and then implements it.
Demonstrates positive engagements with residents reinforcing proactive behaviors.
Seeks to participate in effective leadership approaches and training to enhance job skills, seeking opportunities to mentor new staff.
Provides positive leadership and remains clam under pressure.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or a GED from an accredited institution Minimum of one year's relevant work experience and/or training working with adolescents and teenagers which demonstrates the ability to complete the job duties and responsibilities outlined.
Successful completion of the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional (RCYCP) training preferred (may be obtained through on-the-job training at the Healing Lodge at no cost to the employee).
Knowledge in Native American culture/spiritual traditions and practices preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Possesses flexibility with frequent interruptions.
Is knowledgeable in a wide range of high-risk adolescent with substance abuse and addiction.
Has the capability of adapting to a wide range of physical, emotional, social, and/or spiritual well-being.
Ability to deescalate youths in crisis, use motivational interviewing techniques to engage with residents.
Possesses empathy with distraught residents.
Maintains flexibility with employees shift tasks and priorities.
Possesses strong skill set of concentration and attention to detail.
Maintain positive and supportive professional work attitude towards the agency and personnel, submit concerns or constructive suggestions to direct supervisor.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION Must be a minimum of 21 years old Must become CPR and First Aid certified Possess a Washington State drivers license free of driving restrictions.
Must be able to read and write proficiently in English for Documentation and Daily Reports Healing Lodge Indian Preference Hiring Statement The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations shall give preference in employment for all work performed to enrolled members of federally recognized Tribes.
If the Healing Lodge is unable to fill its employment opening with qualified Indian applicants those employment openings may then be filled by other qualified applicants.
