Description Eastern State Hospital (ESH), in Medical Lake.
is committed to providing quality inpatient treatment for people with serious or long-term behavioral health diagnosis that have been referred to the hospital through a behavioral health organization.
ESH, within DSHS’s Behavioral Health Administration, serves adult patients in Treatment Malls focused on geropsychiatric, civil, or forensic care.
ESH is recruiting for a Finance Manager.
In this role, you report to ESH’s Chief Financial Officer with a cross-functional relationship to the Budget Manager and the Operations Administer for Staffing.
The work you do impacts the budgeting used to meet patient care and safety requirements within existing financial resources.
ESH is looking for an experienced financial analyst that is focused on strengthening reporting within the hospital.
You will impact every department and the reports provided will assist the hospital in supporting sustainable recovery, independence, and wellness of our patients.
You will be relied on for your knowledge and strategic planning responsibilities contributing expertise pertaining to decisions impacting staffing and related costs.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you will do Create, monitor, and maintain hospital-wide staffing reports that includes vacancy rate, contracted staff utilization, and projected-to-actual staffing levels Develop, monitor, and maintain all BHA requested statewide reports Create, monitor, and maintain hospital-wide and by department position reports and financial dashboards that have a fiscal impact on hospital budgets, such as absenteeism, overtime and call-back usage, vacancy and turnover rates, retention, and key performance indicators Develop long and short-term plans to carry ESH through each accounting cycle in alignment with established policies and strategic plans Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects of the organization Make estimates of funds required for short and long-term financial goals Perform audits on various reports used at the hospital for data integrity and fiscal impact Who should apply Professionals with a bachelors* degree in business administration, finance, economics, health administration, or a related field And, 5 years of experience conducting research and analyzing financial data, policies, laws, rules, or regulations; concurrent work experience shall include: Knowledge of state government fiscal budget matters Ability to explain technical, work-related information to persons unfamiliar with the topic in a way that supports understanding Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean, with the ability to lead process improvements.
Patience to multi-task with constant interruptions while producing and completing a high volume of work in a timely manner * A master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
Additional described work experience may substitute year for year for education requirements.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities: Master’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, health administration, or a related field Two years of budget experience in Behavioral health At least one year in a medical facility administrative capacity Want to know more about Eastern State Hospital?
