Position Summary: Assists Outside Sales team in selling building products and services to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.
What You'll Do: • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
• Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Tracks stock levels.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Attends trade shows.
Minimum Requirements: • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior building materials industry experience preferred.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Knowledge of order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Work Environment / Physical Activity: • Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to travel up to 20%.
