As the Kootenai Health Foundation Grant Writer you will work collaboratively with foundation clinical and program teams securing funding for key initiatives and programs by convening project champions, scoping projects, and assisting with program development.
Research private, corporate and government organizations and build relationships with key leaders to secure funding and manage awarded grants.
Responsible for managing a grant fundraising program to support the fundraising goals set forth by the Foundation and Kootenai Health leadership.
*What you will do: *
* Establish and implements grant development strategies and provides leadership around organizational strategies for procuring private and public grant funding
* Build and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with foundation staff and colleagues across the organization, including other departments, to help facilitate a culture of philanthropy
* Work with philanthropy staff, clinical and program staff to identity grant opportunities, analyze and assess prospects, prepare grant opportunities and support program development and promotion of evidence-based and best practices
* Manage all activities as they relate to grants, including coordination of prospect research, project activities, correspondence for proposals to various agencies, letters of intent, presentation materials and follow-up reporting, and submission of grant reports to funders
* Enhance post-award stewardship and connectivity with awarded entities and post-award administration team
* Provide grant expertise and support for regional affiliated foundations and health systems
*Requirements and Minimum Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree required
* 2 years’ experience writing successful grant proposals required
* Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants required
* Experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial, and philanthropic information required
* Self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly-organized
* High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well under pressure against firm deadlines
* Seek and synthesizes information in a compelling and succinct form
