Position Summary
As the Marketing Specialist at Whitworth University, you'll spearhead the creation and implementation of dynamic marketing strategies tailored to our graduate and continuing studies programs.
Your role involves coordinating advertising campaigns, boosting brand visibility, crafting compelling marketing materials, supporting enrollment communications, and enhancing our online presence to drive admissions for graduate and continuing studies programs.
Core Responsibilities Coordinate Projects | 40% Coordinate marketing initiatives and move projects forward to completion, working with agency and/or director, and university marketing and communications to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Work with departments to develop and update marketing collateral consistent with brand design, with approval from university marketing & communications, and to meet department objectives.
Monitor inventory of marketing collateral; oversee production of marketing collateral to ensure quality control.
Meet timeline and parameters for marketing/publications projects, working with the department to establish desired outcomes.
Monitor and track marketing budgets for graduate and continuing studies, agency-related expenses, and monthly expenses; submit monthly payment requests and reconcile monthly budget reports after approval by the director.
Monitor day-to-day activities of graduate, continuing studies, and military/veterans marketing and communications.
Web and Online Media Strategies | 30% Identify and utilize appropriate metrics, such as web analytics, to measure and track the success of communication and advertising initiatives.
Write and generate original content for graduate and continuing studies websites and online/digital media strategies, working with the marketing and communications department, as well as program directors and staff to improve overall user experience and conversions.
Enhance SEO (search engine optimization) and other media strategies, working with agency and university marketing and communications offices to increase web traffic.
Initiate and maintain website changes in CMS; write and generate original content for web pages.
Content and Creative | 25% Write, edit and proof copy for marketing materials, including collateral, media, and web text; oversee editing process in cooperation with university marketing & communications.
Initiate and implement periodic updates for marketing materials, including photos, print materials, web edits, and general marketing materials.
Implement new program launches and/or special campaigns.
Develop strategic inquiry-to-admission funnel materials for grad/CS programs, working with the director and departments to ensure program admission goals are met.
Ensure coordination and consistency of messaging between various admissions funnels.
Other | 5% Assist with events and special projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications | Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education Associates degree is preferred and Whitworth considers candidates with a wide range of educational backgrounds.
